Pumpkin Poem

All was well on the eve
of the full moon.
My gown flowed,
my shoes fit,
the page was fresh--
and the pen was new.

It was a ball!

I danced and danced
to the upbeat sounds,
the music was all around
but I didn't hear the sound--

of the clock as it struck twelve!

In a panic I ran as fast as I could
in those darn high heeled glass shoes.
Down the winding stair case
and out the giant doors--

only to find that 8675-309 was disconnected!

She's never really been any help...only gets me into trouble.

Ain't no sunshine when she's gone. It's not warm when she's away. Ain't no sunshine when she's gone. And she's always gone too long…
